Cookies and local storage
A cookie is a small piece of data a website asks your browser to keep and send back later. Local storage is similar, but stays in your browser and is never sent to the server.
What we use
thrungames sets three cookies and uses one local storage entry. All are set by thrungames itself; none are set by anyone else.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
thrungames_refresh |
Keeps you signed in | 90 days, renewed while you use the site; removed when you sign out |
__Host-gh_oauth |
Protects a GitHub sign-in while it is in progress | 10 minutes |
__Host-gh_link |
Protects linking your GitHub account to your thrungames account | 2 minutes |
thrungames-theme (local storage) |
Remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system theme | Until you clear it |
Why there is no cookie banner
Everything above is either strictly necessary to give you the service you asked for (signing in) or remembers a choice you made (the theme). The law doesn't require consent for these, so we don't show a cookie banner.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Games
Games run on thrun.games, a separate domain from thrungames.com, so they can't read our cookies. A game may save your progress or settings in thrun.games's own storage.
All games share that one storage area, and we don't read it. To remove what games have saved, clear the site data for thrun.games in your browser.
Managing cookies
You can see, delete and block cookies and site data in your browser's settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings. If you block thrungames_refresh, you won't stay signed in.
